RENAISSANCE CELLAR

Our terroirs, our expertise, your wine.

Renaissance Vins is the proud descendant of the Cave Taillefer, founded in 1998 by two brothers, Jacques-Alphonse and Philippe Orsat, accompanied by the Escher family. They are emblematic figures of the Valais wine industry, and have contributed to the significant growth of their business, which is particularly active in the gastronomy and retail sectors. Initially based in Sierre, it moved to Charrat after a few years.

In 2013, Cave Taillefer, under the impetus of new shareholders and Gabrielle Escher, became Renaissance Vins. The company has quickly established itself as one of the leaders in the Valais wine sector, and is continuing to expand its focus on exceptional wines. To perfectly combine modernity and tradition, it invests every year in new tools, such as a grape sorting table for optimal selection of grapes, terracotta amphorae for traditional vinification and wooden tuns to refine the tannins in red wines.

From 2014 to the present day, Renaissance has won numerous gold and silver medals, at the Vinalies de Paris, Expovina Zurich, the Mondiaux du Pinot Noir, the Mondiaux du Merlot and the Mondiaux du Chasselas, as well as the Grand Prix du Vin Suisse and the Étoiles du Valais.

Terroirs, know-how and quality are the key words of Renaissance. More than 20 exceptional grape varieties, from the finest estates in the Valais, bring their own magic to its crus. In its constant desire to promote local identity, Renaissance has developed a "Barry" range that supports the foundation of the same name. The foundation, which is recognised as being in the public interest, breeds the famous avalanche dogs that are part of the legend of the Col du Grand-St-Bernard.
