AOC Valais
Merlot, the world-famous red grape variety, is thought to have come to the Valais from the vineyards of Bordeaux. Here, it has found a warm, dry climate, ideal for developing its aromas and powerful structure.
Slow maceration over 3 to 4 weeks gently extracts the colour and tannins responsible for the structure of this red wine. This speciality is then matured in vats for several months, during which time the second fermentation takes place.
Dress : Intense red, tinged with black and violet
Nose : Aromas of ivy with notes of coffee
Mouth : Round, powerful, full-bodied, mellow and warm, the finish is underpinned by powerful, mellow tannins.
