Petite Arvine

AOC Valais
Add to basket
Petite Arvine, a grape variety indigenous to the Valais, has been cultivated for at least four centuries. Initially little planted, it gained in popularity in the 20th century. Between 1991 and 2008, the area planted almost quadrupled thanks to careful selection. Demanding, it requires optimum exposure and avoids fertile soils and drought. Appreciated for its distinctive character and ageing potential, Petite Arvine has resisted attempts to grow it elsewhere in Europe, where conditions are not suitable.
Slow, gentle pressing, a single fermentation at a low temperature of 17 degrees and nine months' ageing in vats guarantee maximum body and roundness, while preserving the finesse and freshness of the aromas. Our Petite Arvine has not undergone malolactic retrogradation to retain all its liveliness.
Dress : Yellow with golden highlights
Nose : Fresh, lemony notes of mandarin, exotic, tropical fragrances of lychee, mango and passion fruit
Mouth : Juicy flavours of apricot and rhubarb, pleasant acidity, salinity of fleur de sel, nuances of orange zest, elegant structure and aromatic persistence.
